Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches

The Cisco Nexus 9000 Series includes a range of modular and non-modular switches with scalability, high performance, low power consumption, and complete Virtual Extensible Local Area Network (VXLAN) and network virtualization using universal routing encapsulation (NVGRE) function.
 

Models for the Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches
The Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches are available in three models: the Cisco Nexus 9508 switch, the Cisco Nexus 9396PX switch.


Cisco Nexus 9508 Switch
 

The Cisco Nexus 9508 switch is a 13 rack unit (13RU) with port rate Modular switches for 1, 10, and 40 Gigabit Ethernet with eight linear boards and six switch fabric module slots. With 30 Tb/s (Tbps) of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching performance, it provides up to 288 non-blocking 40 Gigabit Ethernet ports or 1152 non-blocking 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports for each fully populated system. This switch does not have a midplane.
 

As a result, the inside of the chassis has excellent airflow and cooling capacity, and can be easily upgraded to the future 100 Gigabit Ethernet mode.The Cisco Nexus 9500 platform is fully redundant with two control engines, two system controllers, and three fan tray, and up to four power supplies.

 


 Cisco Nexus 9396PX Switch
 

The Cisco Nexus 9396PX Switch is a 2RU 1, 10, and 40 Gigabit Ethernet Modular switch with 960 Gbps Layer 2 and Layer 3 forwarding capabilities. The Cisco Nexus 9396PX Switch has 48 10 Gigabit Ethernet enhancements.Small form factor hot-swappable (SFP+) ports and 12 40 Gigabit Ethernet enhanced Quad SFP (QSFP+) ports.
 

Interconnect Solutions for Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches
